Prof. Gregory F. Moore

Prof. Gregory F. Moore is a distinguished geoscientist with more than four decades of experience in marine geophysics and related fields. He currently serves as Professor Emeritus at the University of Hawaiʻi and previously held faculty and research positions at the University of Hawaiʻi, the University of Tulsa, the Cities Service Research Lab, and Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
Throughout his career, Prof. Moore has published more than 150 peer-reviewed papers and has contributed significantly to the advancement of geoscience through research, leadership, and international collaboration. His experience includes serving as Chair of the Marine Geophysics Division at HIG/SOEST, Advisor to the Director General of CDEX/JAMSTEC, and Visiting Professor at institutions such as the University of Tokyo, GEOMAR in Germany, and Academia Sinica in Taiwan.
Prof. Moore has received numerous honors for his contributions to the field, including the Miyashiro International Prize from the Geological Society of Japan, the Wing Ip Medal from the Asia Oceania Geosciences Society, and the Excellence Professorship/Petersen Prize from Kiel University/GEOMAR. He is also a Fellow of the Geological Society of America, the American Geophysical Union, and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.
