Prof. J. Bruce H. Shyu is a distinguished geologist and seismologist with expertise in earthquake geology, tectonic geomorphology, paleoseismology, and surface processes. With over 15 years of research experience, he has published numerous articles in top-tier journals, including Terrestrial, Atmospheric, and Oceanic Sciences. Prof. Shyu is a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Ta-You Wu Memorial Award and Distinguished Professorship. He is currently a Distinguished Professor at National Taiwan University, where he continues to conduct research and teach undergraduate students. His research focuses on understanding the tectonic evolution of Taiwan and its implications for earthquake hazard mitigation.
