Prof. Hiroshi Kawase is a renowned expert in structural engineering and building science, with a Doctor's degree from Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University (1990). Throughout his distinguished career, he has held various positions, including Researcher at Shimizu Corp. (1986-1988), Visiting Scholar at the University of Southern California, USA (1991-1992), and Long-term JICA expert with CENAPRED, Mexico (1993-1998). As a researcher, Prof. Kawase has published over 150 papers in top journals, many of which have been widely cited. His work on structural engineering and building science has also been recognized with several awards, including the Japan Society of Civil Engineers Award (2010) and the ASCE Structural Engineering Award (2015).
